Okay, so last night was the night from hell. There was a thunder and lightening storm, which upset DD. THEN the power went out, frying my Mobicam video monitor. So I didn't have a monitor, and can't hear DD when she's in her room and we're in ours. So I thought we'd just cosleep (used to cosleep with her periodically, and she even went through a phase about a month and a half ago where she would wake up screaming and the only was she'd sleep is laying on my chest). Um no. DD now thinks of our bed as a play thing instead of a sleep thing. So I finally pulled out the pnp and set it up in our room. She screamed and screamed and screamed. And every 5 minutes I went and comforted her. She finally went to sleep around 2:30 (and I couldn't fall asleep until around 5 - dd woke up at 6:30...ugh!). So, now I have a couple of questions.
I feel like I need another video monitor, but my mom and my good friend laughed at me when I said that. They don't think I need one now that DD isn't a newborn. Thoughts?
Also, money is pretty tight right now, so I don't have a lot to spend. I see an Astak video monitor well within my price range. Anyone have one of these? Or heard of them? Any reviews of this? I can only find one review online, but I don't want to discount it simply for lack of reviews. My mobicam was expensive as hell and was kind of a POS - lots of static, the range wasn't even close to what they claimed it was, and it sucked the life out of brand new batteries within 5 minutes, so it really wasn't portable. But I loved in none the less.
Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks!
Re: HELP!
Thanks!
We have the lights and sounds monitor for my parent's house, and that's what we're using tonight (my Dad told me he doesn't need it anyway, since he can hear Lucy cry in her room there). I am just so used to the video monitor! I guess I can use this one for a while and see if I can get used to it.
