at daycare they have other kids to watch obviously and a job to do, so they schedule things the way they need to. however it's not exactly the same as i'd do it if i was home full time.
so while DS is at daycare 3 days a week naps and feedings are handled one way, then the other 4 days at home we're trying to do things the way we'd like....it's frustrating to not have consistency!
anyone juggle this with success?
Re: how can you get consistency with childcare vs. your care?
We spoke with our daycare provider before LO started. We told them the schedule we were doing and they told us how they like to operate and we agreed to compromise. LO is only at daycare 3 days a week also.
I would talk to your provider and see if they can meet you in the middle so you can both be happy.
This. If what you want is reasonable and they aren?t willing to work with you, I would look somewhere else. Our center has always done what we ask.
i worked in a child care center, and if you LO is in an infant room, they are supposed to work around your LO schedule and not theirs. if they have a set schedule (all babies nap at this time, eat at this time, play at this time, nap again at this time...) then i would find a center that is more child-centered.
