When to give the hostess gifts?

My MIL, Mom, and DH's aunt are throwing our first shower this coming Saturday. My mom, with a little help from my SIL, will be throwing our second shower on October 10. When do I hand them their hostess gift? Money is a little tight and I was hoping to get another pay check in before I give my mom her's: it will be a little larger since she is doing both. This means hers would be around the 2nd shower. Do they get them on the day of or can I wait a week or so and write them a thank you card to hand them with the gift? Not sure about what is considered proper.

I sent the hostess's to my bridal shower edible arrangements after the shower. I think any time after the shower is fine.

You can do it same day or after. After won't be as hectic.
