I BF DD until 14 months, and it made me cry just thinking about completely weaning. But I was pleased to find that she didn't seem to miss it at all in the end, and it didn't affect our bond at all. I knew for sure that she didn't even remember it at all and was completely adjusted to life without the boob when a couple weeks later, we were taking a shower, and she pointed to my nipple and said, "Bottie!" which is her word for belly button!!! It made me laugh so hard!
Nursed for the last time last Thursday. I cried the 2-3 weeks it took to wean, and I'd go back in a heartbeat, but I am having medical issues and need to start a medication that doesn't work with bfing. I have to say, it's been much harder on me than on her. She's doing fine, even when I was a blubbering mess!

I had a very hard time with bfing--DD would scream and scream when I'd try to nurse. I was having a lot of pain too. After 2 visits to the LC I decided I'd pump exclusively. But I was never getting much milk so I decided to stop. I'm heartbroken--feeling so sad and guilty even though everybody tells me I did my best.

I am in the same boat! I am looking into relactation and thought about trying to BF again, but I feel as though if it was so hard at first, why might it work this time.
