What color to wear in Black and White photos?

Ok - I know that sounds stupid.

My photographer said no black and no white as they don't show up well in black and white photography. That is really all I have. I have a grey shirt. and I think I have a blue t-shirt but that is it.

Anyone wear black or white in their black and white pics and have them turn out well?

No, don't wear black or white.  They are hard to photograph and if you want your pictures to turn out well you really should listen to your photographer on color choices.

Any other color would be fine, I'd go with a light color.

Yes.  I had black and dark navy blue with jeans and they turned out fine.

 

I agree with PP though, go with what your photographer says.

I wore black and white for black and white photos and they turned out OK.  Most photographers want you to wear solid colors so I don't see how it will matter.  Although your photographer may have something special she/he is trying to do...

depending on the location of the photo shoot (indoor with backdrop or outside) would be the only reason what you wear would matter.  Keep in mind red blue and green are going to shoot exactly the same as will orange and grey.  I am a photographer and in studio I only use a black or white backdrop and love the high key/low key affect when my clients wear the opposite of the backdrop.  You should keep it solid though, prints do not always photograph well.  Think in shades of gray when planning what to wear...and you probably shouldn't wear the same color as DH IMO.  Good Luck & enjoy!

Why not bring both tops and change halfway through?

My husband does photography on the side, and he said that a pattern would look really great. Apparently, the contrast will accentuate your bump. You might want to think about using a couple of different outfits, if that's possible.
