Mom's of 2+ How Do You Organize Your Photos?

When it was just DS I had separate folders for - 

• Holidays

• How old he was (separated by months)
• Family Vacations
• Etc.

I'm just now uploading most of the photos off my camera since having DD.

I started her a folder for her own personal pics but how do I organize them when they are both in the pictures?

I guess I could just label the month I took them? 

I have a feeling I'm making this out to be a lot harder than it is, LOL. TIA!

I have a few albums for each in pink and blue.

For both kids, I put their individual pics in the albums and for #2 there were some joint pictures in there.

After her 1st birthday which was in May, now I'll start putting them all in one album.

On my computer, I started to seperate the digitals by month

Sept, Oct etc...and when I print them out then I have a better idea.

I used to organize by month for #1, but that was too hard with 2.  Now I just organize by season and it's fine.  I can remember how old #2 was.  I use Adobe, so it uploads everything by date.

I don't have #2 just yet.. but here's what I've been doing and what my plan is for that:

So far I have all my stuff in folders labeled by year. In there I have folders labeled by the month.

Pretty much since DD#1 was born, all the pics are of her, with a few of DH and I mixed in. If there's a holiday or special event, then that gets it's own folder in the month folder.

I made DD#1 a (huge) 1st year book and I plan on doing the same for DD#2. But from here on out, I will also have a photo book for each year (I do only photobooks now so I figured I'd have them printed once a year).

So once #2 is born, I think I will have the same folders: Year: month (with all pics): and then probably another folder in there for DD#2-only pics for her first-year-album. Once she's a year old, it'll go back to just year: month. And I'm sure eventually I'll be taking way less pictures and then I'll go back to how I used to do it before kids and do Year separated by seasons.

Does that make sense? LOL

With DD#1 I kept the pics divided in folders by WEEKS for the 1st year!!! lol lol  THen by months, Now with #2 I do heres sep. by mos in sep folders adn the joint pics I put in #1's folders but I name the pics with BOTH ages.

I organize by month and event.  For example, I'll have a place for January pics, but may also have a subcategory if there was a big event that month - like a birth, baptism, vacation, etc.

I have folders by month and anything that we took just goes in there.  I used to have a ton of folders per month by what we did and who we were with but it was just way to much and took me forever to find the pictures I want to see.  I find just doing the months make it so much easier.  Someday I plan to go back to my old ones and redo them by month since its so much easier.
