My body has felt...unfamiliar since whenever I was first pregnant almost a year ago. I think the reasons for that during pregnancy are pretty obvious. immediately post-partum is pretty obvious too.
Overall, the reclamation is going OK for an average girl like me. I'm back into my regular pants. I'm still a few pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. I've been at this weight once before but something still seems kind of different. It's a nuanced thing that I'm finding hard to put my finger on.
Today I was getting out of the shower and realized what it is that still seems so different. I think my body composition is different. It's like the muscle is harder and the fat is softer. When I look at them together, say on my thigh, the contrast between the two is much sharper than before. As I write this it sounds kind of gross and bizarre! Has anyone else noticed this?
Re: I finally figured my body out
I noticed that my fat is softer. And my hips are bigger.
Every am, I wake up and look where my body is different. I have so much more "love" to handle. My upper tummy looks like nothing happened. But the lower pooch seems to extend and create a steep slope. I always had a little bit of belly fat at the bottom, but this is extreme.
My foot has gotten wider at the toe box, which is OK bc it was too narrow as my foot slipped through open toe shoes. My knuckles have gotten bigger. My ring is loose now. It turns around loosely on my finger, but I cant take it off without greasing it up.
And then theres the CS scar. Now that will never go away.
Oh God, how has my body changed so far? Let me count the ways...
Wider hips
Stretched out hoo-ha
Hemorrhoids
Stretch marks
Belly pouch
Love handles
Hopefully Kegels and exercise will take care of most of those issues, but it's not pretty.
All of this!
