My 9 yr old daughter's name is Ivy.

Re: How about...

  • I love it! I think Iris and Ivy would sound beautiful together.
  • I love Iris but I agree with PP, too matchy with your DD Ivy.

Zoe and Ivy are cut together!

    Agreed.

  • i like zoe better.

    what about isla (eye-la)?

  • i love the name iris... it was the second choice for my ivy. :)

they are a bit matchy, but i think you'll be okay, as pp said, if you don't have a third. but zoe is really a great name, too.

FYI, there is a children's clothing line called iris and ivy.

    good luck!

  • I definately prefer Iris to Zoe...  And Iris & Ivy sound wonderful together!  I don't have a problem with "matchy" names, either.  My brother & I are Ethan and Emma, and I always liked the combo.  G/L!

  • Have to say, am normally very anti-matchy names - but I love both Ivy & Iris, and I don't mind the double "I"/flora aspects.

IMO, both Ivy & Zoe and Ivy & Iris are lovely together.

  • Ditto Fredalina.  I'm just not into matchy names-it's not just that it's the letter though, that's one thing-but also the plant/floral part. Personally, I really like Zoe.

  • I'd like Iris better without Ivy, but I think really the only awful match-up would be Holly. Smile I think Zoe is cute, too, but Iris is much more unique.
  • I like Iris over Zoe.  Zoe always makes me think of a hippy girl.  I like Iris and Ivy combo

i like Iris, but i think Iris and Ivy together are too matchy-matchy and the same first letter (esp. being an unusual letter) are over-the-top.  JMO.  Plus, if you have a third, you'll be pressed for "Do i use another 'I' name?  Do i use another floral name?  How would i possibly do both again?"

Completely agree but Zoe is NMS.

  • I don't like Iris at all. It reminds me of an eye ball. I do like Zoe

  • I like the name, but it's a little too matchy/matchy for my taste.
