wwyd?? Help!!

Bentlie spilled water on my laptop today.. not much... but now it wont turn on.... I took a blow dryer to it and tried to get it as dry as I could w/o getting it hot... Its been a few hours and it still wont turn on.... should I just leave it alone for a few days and then try to mess with it?? tia

  • I would leave it alone for a bit. It will probably dry out and be fine after a while.
  • What kind of laptop is it?

    We have a HP Pavilion Notebook.  DD did the same thing to ours and it wouldn't power up.  I took it to the Geek Squad and they wouldn't even touch it--said it had to be returned to HP for repairs.  So I called HP and got the estimate and authorized the repairs.  HP then shipped a box to me to return the computer in.  Before we shipped it, DH found an article online about how many HP laptops were having power issues and would suddenly stop powering up.  The article said HP was extending the warranty if anyone had power issues (we were about 6 months past the warranty).  So we threw a copy of the article in the return box with a written note asking them to waive the repair fee since it was a power issue.  Even though they already knew about water getting on the laptop, they still covered all of our repairs.  If we had to pay for it, it would have run about $500.
