Greasing the wheels at 35 weeks?

I went in for my NST today for lack of movement, all was fine. He's just a stinker.

But our OB asked me if I was working on greasing the wheels to get labor rolling soon. She suggested that we start working on some pressure points to help get the ball rolling for labor. When I asked her about it, she said its much easier to get baby's to go on their own rather than have to induce at 40 weeks. So she suggests getting the ball rolling to all her patience around 35-36 weeks.

When I asked her about it, she said that your body won't go unless its ready to go. But everything you can to get yourself ready is less time in the delivery room.

I knew I liked me OB!

 ETA:

Her suggestion was pressure points.

  • Why would you "have" to induce at 40 weeks, anyway?

  • Did she give you any suggestions?  I'm planning on doing that too.

I have a friend who's a labor and delivery nurse and she (jokingly) told me she'd come break my water early morning on Thanksgiving so I could delivery while my MIL is out of town.  She knows my MIL so she knows why I don't want her around.  I know she couldn't really do that, but it was a nice thought!
