How do you feel about caddy-cornered furniture

My Dh hates it (waste of space) but I think that the space that is "wasted" usually would be unusable anyway because of the layout of the furniture in the corner, especially with dresser drawers.  I want to put LO's crib and one dresser on the same wall, but it seems so "heavy" next to each other.  I feel like caddy cornering lightens up the look and balances the room better.  But then again, I want to caddy-corner a piece in olmast every room in the house, so maybe I'm just weird?

What's your opinion?

  • I think sometimes it's necessary, depending on the room. It tends to look strange when all the furniture in the room is at a right angle to each other. I

  • I think used sparingly, it can add dimension to the room and break up the space.  If you have room, go for it.
  • I like it for certain things, DH loathes it with a passion. He'd rather line everything flat against one wall to the point of not being able to walk between a bed and a dresser if an angle is the other option.
  • In Finn's room we had to cut the corner with his crib. The layout in both boys' rooms is awkward, and that's the way it looked best. I think it looked just fine. Here are a couple pictures.image
