unintentionally.
Women out and about, at the store, at the park, at starbucks this evening.
It all starts when they ask when I'm due. Then " is this your first" ,and then they want details on L&D of baby #1.
When I tell them about my c-section it turns in to " why did you have to stop being pregnant at 42 weeks" and " so what, you could have pushed an 11 pound baby out just fine, your dr's should have let nature take its course"
Well thanks moron. It's been a little over a year and a half and I really don't need your moronic .2 on a previous pregnancy. I made the best decision for myself any my son given my circumstances at the time.
I've met with doulas before, looking to hire one and I've decided that I'm my own best coach and my own best advocate for my healthcare, and after I meet a few like the bunch I've encountered, I have no doubt that I dont need a $750.00 obnoxious ass in my delivery room.
Re: I keep meeting highly obnoxious doulas
Wow, that sucks.
My doula is incredibly awesome and I think that will be my biggest recommendation to pregnant women- to get one! She doesn't tell me what to do or make judgments. She's there to support me and my husband.
That sucks.
My doula is great and we're really excited to have her there for us. Even my DH liked her and he is a hard sell. She's relaxed, funny and totally open to stupid questions.
But I would be also be irritated by loads of unrequested information/opinions being dumped on me as well.
