Baby Gift?

A friend had her baby yesterday and we're going to visit her in the hospital tonight. I'd like to bring a gift but was trying to think of something a little more creative than an outfit for the baby... any ideas?? Maybe something for the mama?

when my friend's baby was born I brought her a blanket and burp cloths for the baby and then a little basket of stuff for her like an issue of Cosmo and some things to make her feel more human since she had to stay in the hospital for quite a bit of time.

A birthday cake that says Happy Birthday (Baby's Name). For the baby in a way, but for the mom and dad to eat instead of just hospital food.

I love the idea of bringing something for the mom. It seems like I never buy myself anything anymore! How about something pampering like a Burt's Bees set or a basket like the pp suggested.

I say a little something for baby (to use now or later) and maybe a fav magazine of your friend's to give her something to do in the hospital if she is awake and the baby isn't.

You could get a cute gift set from Bath and Body Works or something.. I love that stuff! Or pick a nice scent from Victoria's Secret (I love Love Spell) and get her a matching lotion and body wash set. I'm sure she would even love to have some travel items to use while in the hospital like lotions or body wash.

I also like the piggy bank idea.

If she's breastfeeding you can give her a breastfeeding kit (nursing pads, a cute water bottle, cream, etc.) and then some fun things like a girly magazie or some yummy treats.

Maybe a goodies basket with some of her favorite snacks in it. I know the hospital food is not always that great in certain hospitals. The piggy bank is also a cute idea.
