Lennon?

What do you think? It is Irish for Dear One. My husband and I are both musicians, and DH's husband who recently died was a huge beatles fan. But, we like that it's actually a first name, too.

It has a great flow with middle and last name, I'm just worried if there will be too much ridicule or pressure with a name like that.

My cousin just named her new son Lennon. I think its cute, its gotten pretty good reactions so far from people. I think its a nice choice.

DH's husband? Must be a typo.

I have a girlfriend who got pregnant in high school and named her daughter Lennon. Cute name- not sure if it's right for a little girl but it worked for her. No worse than naming a kid Jagger.

I like it. It's similar to using Dylan if you are a fan of Bob Dylan -- like my sis & BIL did.

It's OK. There are many other ways to honor the Beatles, though, with better names (in my opinion) like Julian, Jude, Harrison, etc., etc.

My biggest hang-up with the name Lennon is the NN "Len."

Honestly, I came across that name the other day when I googled "unique" baby boy names and I actually like it. I was thinking it would be cute to call a boy "Lennie" or "Lenny" as a nickname.

I like it. Especially if you are musicians, and you like the name meaning (who doesn't like "dear one"?!). Think about it, a lot of the most popular names right now are meaningless last names, some presidential or celeb last names (Kennedy, Madison, Jackson, Aniston....) No one is asking those kids why their parents' named them for a prez/celeb/whatever. If you like it, go for it- especially if it flows so well with your other names!

I think for most people it will always conjure the image of John Lennon, but I'm fine with that b/c he was an amazing musician. I think it's a positive connotation, and if you feel that way as well- go for it. IMO, it's a great name.
