Whiney TGIF post

I've had the week from hell and I just want to whine about it and have a pity party.

I got food poisoning last weekend and stayed home sick on Monday.  That night, we had to bring Stella (our youngest pug, not even 3 y.o) into the vet cuz she had a bump on her chin that hadn't gone away all week.

The vet did x-rays and told us he only sees what he saw in doggies with cancer.  Cancer means 5-8 months to live.  DH and I cried all night.  We brought her back to the vet the next morning so they could  sedate her and do more x-rays and a biopsy.

While I was waiting for word from the vet, I got an urgent email from my aunt that my grandmother had been rushed to the ER but she doesn't tell us why.  So now, my dog is dying and my Grandmother is in the hospital.

About 2pm, I find out my Grandmother has had a heart attack and she fell down.  She's been admitted to the critical care unit.  I told my boss I had to go home.

On my way home, I'm sobbing in the car when DH calls me.  He's picking up Stella from the vet and the vet tells us that in 30 years, he's never seen anything like it, but Stella doesn't have cancer but a cyst.  She isn't going to die.  I lost it.  Like, hysterical sobbing (while driving).  She still has to have a very expensive surgery...but she isn't going to die!!!!!!  I also get word that my Grandmother is stabilized and doing ok...she isn't going to die either!!!!

Wednesday was my b-day.  DH started getting sick that night so we didn't really celebrate much, which was fine.  Yesterday he had the full blown flu w/ a fever of 102.

I'm SO over this week and happy it is Friday. I really wish I could have a drink!  :)

  • What a roller coaster.  One small (4oz) glass of wine is okay in the 2nd tri and beyond but is totally up to you.  It sounds like you really, really deserve one.

(((HUGS))) to you -- and here's hoping for a fantastic weekend for you!!!!!!

  • Oh no!!!  What a week!!!  I think you deserve a cupcake and some wine!!  :)  I hope next week is better!!
  • I agree that you deserve a cupcake (heck, I think you deserve a batch of cupcakes). What a crummy week you've had, but I'm glad that it seems like things are swinging upward now. You should have a virgin margarita. :)

  • Oh my gosh C, what an awful day.  :(  I'm so sorry.  I agree with having a glass of wine to wind down and relax.  And I hope your grandma feels better soon.  Big hugs to you mama!

  • I had a half a beer on Wednesday...I'm thinking probably 1 drink per week is about the max. I should have.  Not sure what others have done, but I"d love to hear.

Cupcakes may be in my immediate future for sure though!
