Need naptime help

Mason has decided he doesn't want/need naps, but he is very wrong.  Some days I can get him to nap with me, bad habit I know.  But other days he won't, but will be a mess and trying to fall asleep around dinner (5-6).

Any great ways to get a toddler to nap, preferably in his own bed.

Thanks.

Re: Need naptime help

  • This was about the time that Alex lost his nap - around this time we told him he had to at least "have a rest" - he either played in his bed or kept his toys and books with him.  Sometimes he'd fall asleep - most of the time he didn't

but he "rested" for another year.  Hope that helps

  • Oh my gosh, that's too soon for Mason to stop taking naps!  I'd also just put him in his room for quiet time. If he naps great, if not he has to be quiet - read or play ON his bed.  Daycare does this and she says 75% of the time, they all nap.
