I feel like I've asked this before, so pls. forgive me but....
Am I supposed to get a...
a) humidifier
b) vaporizor
c) purifier
d) none of the above
I attended some baby basics classes and if I recall right, I think they said to help prevent SIDS you should get one of the gadgets (humidifier, maybe??) but not sure.
Thanks for your help!!!
***Any brand names you suggest are good or that I should steer clear from???***
Re: Product Q
you definitely want a humidifier. though i will say, we just switched to using a vaporizer because it puts out more steam, and it's working a lot better for our boys. it's just not as safe, i think. (but we turn it off and empty it before we get them out of their cribs.)
in any case, you want something that will put humidity in the air for when they're stuffy.
i don't remember what brand humidifier we have, but we have a cheapo vicks vaporizer.
and we do have a purifier too, but that's because someone gave us a really nice one, and the boys have asthma. but i'm not sure if everyone needs one.

My blog * We made the national news!
We used a humidifier just because one of the boys always got stuffy during the night and would wake up just because he was pissed. I don't remember it having anything to do with SIDS prevention.
We do keep a ceiling fan on (with it circulating backwards just to circulate the air, not to make it colder) and that is "supposed" to help with SIDS prevention.
When they were babies, we used a vaporizer all the time because I thought they did better breathing when the air wasn't dry.
We quit using it at about 3 1/2. Then I got a purifier because I liked the white noise.
Good question!
I live in FL so it's pretty humid (even with AC)...do I still need a humidifier???
Thank you!!!
