Did you switch formulas?

Our DS is starting to spit up more and more. And after slowing down feedings and burping more, etc. I've come to the conclusion that we may need to switch. We're currently using goodstart? If your LO has a sensitive stomach, what have you been using?

  • Ughhh...DD started on Enfamil Premium/Lipil....then after issues with gas and colic, we tried Gentlease. That didn't help and then she started showing since of reflux so we switched to Alimentum. She's been on that with rice added for over a month now. Yesterday I switched her to Similac Sensitive SR and so far so good. I switched b/c I really dont' believe she needs to be on Alimentum. She never had any signs of a milk protein allergy (i.e. blood poop, rashes, mucous in her poop)...I think she had more of a lactose intolerance. Good luck!!! FWIW...Enfamil Gentlease and Similac Sensitive are supposed to be the same, but DD is doing much better with Sensitive b/c it is lactose free, whereas Gentlease is 1/5 lactose, which is still lactose!

  • I started with Similac Advance and LO was getting hiccups every single time after feeding. Then I switched to Enfamil Premium Lipil but he was too gassy and fussy so I switched to Enfamil Gentlease. He spits up a little more than with the Premium but he's much less gassy and sleeps better so I'll keep him on that for now. It's not good to keep switching formulas, every time I do that LO has a couple of days where he's extremely cranky and hard to put to sleep. Their tummies need time to adjust.
Me: 44 DH: 42. DS born healthy at 40 weeks 8/24/09. TTC since then with no luck or ART. Surprise BFP 8/6/14... MMC @ 8 weeks 4 days... Miss you everyday sweet baby angel.
  • DD started out on good start, but we switched to similac when we moved back to Ohio, because that's what WIC covers. She was very gassy and spit up a lot, so we switched her to Isomil. She's doing much better. Still has gas, but it doesn't seem to bother her like it did before.
