3rd Trimester

Bored .. just an idea!

A little bored here, and was thinking about food (when am i not thinking about food, huh?)

I have a birthday party I'm attending soon and I usually never go somewhere empty handed, so I make my favorite Apple Dip, thought I would share the recipe with everybody!

-You should slice and largely dice (but not too large) about 6 apples. (preferably green apples)

Mix - 8 oz of plain Philadelphia cream cheese (let it set for room temperature)

-add half a cup of brown sugar

-add 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

-add lots of toffee bits into the mix.

Stire until soft and serve... so gooood!

Share your favorite party recipes!

  • That is so funny. I was thinking about apple dip today. I had apples dipped in yogurt for breakfast and then I saw pre-made apple dip at the store. I was thinking "I should make my own!" and, ta-da, you post a recipe. Wooo Hooo!

Here is a recipe for peaches you might enjoy. They are perfect for dinner parties and relatively low in fat (all things considered).

    • Soak peaches in water for a bit and rinse.
    • 1/2 the peaches and pit them (as many as you need - it is one of those recipes)
    • Toss them in a mixture of sugar, diced mint and olive oil
    • Place them face down on the grill until they have some good grill lines (medium grill about 10 minutes)
    • Mix one container whipped cream cheese and a couple of teaspoons of seedless blackberry jam over medium heat until warm.
    • Spoon warm cream cheese mixture over hot peaches!
    • I like it with ice cream!
Life is either a daring adventure or it is nothing at all. Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker BabyFruit Ticker
  • Glad I could be of assistance! The dip is Heavenly if you enjoy sweet tastes! I add a little more sugar and extract sometimes to make it extra sweet hah!

& that sounds good i'll have to try it!

  • Here's an easy fruit dip:

1 small tub of Strawberry cream cheese

    1 jar of marshmallow cream

To make it easier to get the marshmallow cream out of the jar, microwave it for maybe 10 seconds at a time and mix it in with the cream cheese. Very easy and doesn't last long.

I've forgotten the size of the tub and jar (I'm horrible, I know). The tub is the average size of flavored cream cheeses and the jar of marshmallow cream comes in two sizes of which I used the smaller when only using one tub of cream cheese. Then use the larger jar of marshmallow cream if I use two tubs of cream cheese.

  • Mhmm, sounds delicious! Never heard of marshmallow cream before though, gotta try it!

  • Somebody made this once at a party I went to, but used red apples.  It seriously looked like potato salad, so you can imagine my surprise when I bit into it!  The poor dip didn't stand a chance ranking my approval after it deceived me!
