An interesting 37 week appointment...

 So here is what happened at my appointment today that made it so...interesting:

1. I met the last of three midwives in the practice (and she's an...energetic one!).

2. I got a new result for my GBS result: Positive, when I was given Negative this past Monday.

3. I got a guessed weight of about 8-9lbs for my baby.  Gonna be a big one...

I'm not too concerned about the positive GBS thing because of the antibiotics I'll be taking when in labor, but I am a little nervous about the weight of the baby... I was nievely thinking I'd have a peanut of a baby, like I was (I was 5 1/2lbs....but 5 1/2 weeks early).

Did they do an u/s to guess the weight or were they just guessing? ?

Also, I love that you called the midwife energetic.. I have a picture of this girl I know in my head.. and she's certainly energetic, lol. ?

No, not an u/s guess. It was a "squish your stomach real tight between my hands" kind of guess. And she told me the weight with this number: "Well... [long pause] She's not the smallest baby I've felt. [Another long pause] But not the biggest, either. I'll say about 8-9lbs." 

And yes, "energetic" was quite the understatement. I do, however, love her energy and high spirit. Just almost overwhelming on a first meeting with her. But I wouldn't mind if she were the one at my birth!

I wouldn't be too worried about the weight thing.  Sounds like it was completely a guess.  I keep hearing about how off doctors/midwives are on their guesses, so she could still be an average size baby.

Yea, I wouldn't put too much stock in that weight guess then.. She could be wayy off.

LOL! I love it! I would rather have a Dr or MW full of energy than one who is run down! ?

I hope so! lol! I'm sure I could do it, but man, it'd be nice if it were smaller! 

OH!!! And she told me she face-up, so while I have time, you better believe I'll be doing all the exercises I can to get that baby to flip around! lol

Oh, me too! All three of the ladies are awesome, so I am SO glad I switched care providers!!

Just remember your body is capable of a bigger baby than that.  You will do fine.  My doc told me that my 9 yo was going to be a 10 lber  He weighed 6lb 7 oz
