we recently noticed a light peach fuzz on our little 4 month old baby girl "down there". she had her four month appointment on Monday and the Dr. did not seem worried. she said that some kids just get this and they generally do not do tests if everything else looks good/is normal. I am still a little worried of course!!!
Has anyone else experienced this with their infants? was everything fine? did it go away eventually?
I am sure it's fine, but of course when you google it, I see things on hormonal issues etc...
FYI - she is on about 50/50 BM/formula and I am on the mini pill. Dr thought it might go away once I stop BF...
Re: peach fuzz "down there" on 4 mos old girl
how much peach fuzz are we talking?
I feel like a weirdo for asking this!
Obviously boys and girls hormonal systems are different but DS is FF and he has light hairs on his scrotum. I just take it to be normal - it's not anywhere close to the texture of pubic hair.
I don't know why your doctor said that it might go away if you stop BFing ... unless your hormonal levels are off and you are passing too much .. uh testosterone?
Good luck! I think having kids makes us worry 24/7 -
just a little more visible/slightly longer than the little tiny hairs on other parts of her body - very light.
this sounds just like what our LO has - nothing close to PH texture - exactly.
I think my Dr. just wondered if the pill might have anything to do with it - just a possibility since there are hormones in there and some do get passed to LO I guess. She didnt seem overlly concerned either way.
I am SUCH a worry wart now that we have our first baby!
thanks for your response. that pic is TOOOO cute btw!
Both my girls were born pretty hairy but I never noticed any peach fuzz on her labia but I wouldnt rule it out as impossible.
If you are concerned, you can ask the Dr. to do some blood work to check her testosterone level.
My guess is that she is totally fine. It'll fall out just like her baby does/did.
DS has fuzz right above his crack. His daddy has same fuzz there!!
I'm sure it's normal and will go away.
