3rd Trimester

Where do you find preemie clothes?

I want to have a preemie size option to take with us to the hospital for a coming home outfit, but hardly ever see them in a store.  Where have you found them? I'm not looking for anything special...just sleepers, etc.

Re: Where do you find preemie clothes?

  • BRU has preemie clothing. :) I didn't get anything preemie, but I've seen them there. We used a Gerber NB outfit for going home last time, which worked well since they are on the small side.

  • Carters makes preemie sized clothes :) You can usually find them wherever the other Carters clothing are :)?

    ?

  • there should be a specific rack at BRU, that's where my sister got hers anyway. i would just ask a worker where it is so you don't have to walk around aimlessly. :)

  • I found a ton at Ross, but really they seem too small for newborns
  • Besides BRU, Walmart has some. And they're not all bad looking, but it's hard to make a baby look bad.

  • Thanks - I'll check BRU again and wal-mart.

this is where we got ours.

we wanted something a little on the less expensive side in case the baby is larger than premie.

  • Walmart carries preemie sleepers--they are SO stinking cute :-)

Also, keep in mind that a washed gerber NB size is pretty tiny...

  • I got a few at Janie and Jack--super cute--my DS was full term but still needed premie sizes for a few weeks--so I got a few this time around.

  • Wal Mart carries that one brand that is made by Carter's.. they do have a lot of cute baby clothes. I'm not crazy about their selection for toddlers or 'big girls'.. but you can find some cute stuff :)?
All of Layla's pants last winter came from walmart! $3.50 or $20... ???? lol, $3.50!?
  • Gymboree has a size in layette that is "up to 7 lbs.", but it's really up to 9 lbs. or so. That's where Brynn's coming home outfit and stuff for the first few weeks is from.

My mom got me 4 from there and they are so stinking cute, and they were on sale too.

  • My son was 5 lbs 8 oz at birth and wore preemie sizes for several weeks...the only store we could find them at (we didn't go to BRU) was Walmart.  Walmart's line made by Carter's comes in a lot of styles which were great for footed sleepers that were soft and cuddly.  They're not very expensive, so when the baby starts to put on weight, you won't be out a huge amount of $$. I have only seen one preemie size in the Just One Year by Carter's line at Target.  Gerber does run small as PP said, so you might also get away with NB onesies or jammies.
  • Thanks all - I have plenty of newborn stuff, but wanted a couple preemie sizes, too.  If nothing else, I return them.
