The older I get the more I realize that I'm not an expert at much of anything useful. I'm a very good generalist but the areas of my expertise are somewhat limited. So I'm curious about everyone else...what are you an expert at in your personal/professional/online/fictional life?
Re: What are you an expert at?
My list:
I know that minimum necessary standard of HIPAA (and a good chunk of the rest of the privacy rule) forwards and backwards
I can tell you almost anything about all 5 seasons of Sailor Moon (and I can tell you the difference between the Japanese and America versions for seasons 3 and 4)
I'm a pro and dealing with plugged ducts. Ditto for morning sickness.
That's about it. See what I mean...not very practical.

Just kidding!
I wouldn't consider myself an expert at anything because there is always room to grow and perfect. I like to think I am advanced at things - like quilting and sewing but I am no where near an expert. I hope to become a Registered Dietitian some day and be an expert in child obesity prevention but that will be years before I can even come close.
This too sadly. We are trying to find ways to make our house more "ours" through decorating or small projects and I've got nothing to contribute because that stuff is not really my thing. I don't bake or cook exceptionaly well, I'm not crafty, I don't scrapbook or card make. I like to take pictures but no where near the ability of others i've seen lately. I like to run, and I only do that medicore as well. I've got nothing to share.
bwwwahahahahahahahaha!!
Hahaha!
1. Patent Law. Well, not expert, but I know more than the average person.
2. Crochet. I know all the fancy crocheting techniques.
3. Movie trivia.
4. Making mashed potatoes.
Unable to even.

You don't understand the appeal of Benedict Cumberbatch / think he's fug / don't know who he is? WATCH SHERLOCK. Until you do, your negative opinion of him will not be taken seriously.
Ditto!

I think I am a good problem solver! However, with that said, I have come to the conclusion that a lot of people dont really want help with their problems they just want to ***.
I am also rather creative and conceptual. You give me a few odd objects and tell me to make XYZ and I bet I could figure out a way to do it!
I think a lot of people feel this way. I feel like an expert at my job, but at home I feel very much like a generalist.
Expert: Knowing the requirements to get into most colleges/universities, knowing how to transfer credit from a community college to a university/college, really anything related to getting into college
Generalist: Celebrity gossip knowledge, saving money (but not an expert like those people who can get things for free through coupons and rebates), research (on things I want to buy or while I was in school)
I am an expert at Max. Nobody nows him like I know him! And I am an expert at being funny/silly/quirky. I lighten the mood and my mom says that "I live out loud."
I am just really good at the other things in my life, but I cannot say that there isn't room to grow or improve:
All-in-all, I am good at life!
