During birthing class last night our instructor was talking about a client of hers that was totally against inducing and her doctor let her go to 46 weeks before insisting they induce.
She went on to have a 10lb baby.
Would you ever let yourself go to 46 weeks?
Re: Can you imagine going to 46 weeks?
Hell no!
Is that even safe??.....?
I'm pretty sure that there are risks for going that late. If you go too long, the placenta starts to break down and baby isn't getting all of the nutrients needed.
Heck no! I would ideally like to be induced at 41 weeks, but would go to 42 weeks if that's what my doctor wanted.
It just makes me wonder if her dates were truly accurate.
Seriously. I have to think that woman's dates were wrong -- I have a hard time believing a baby that was 6 weeks overdue was "only" 10 pounds.
