My mom was out shopping and when she came out of the store, she said there was guy waiting for her and he approached her. She recognized him right away as one of my exboyfriends. She said he came up to her and said, "Hi, I'm xxx. Can you tell Jodi that my brother committed suicide and give her this card?" He had a card in his hand ( a regular card, not a business card) and tried to hand it to my mom. This is the one guy that I used to date that my mom hated, so she refused. I guess he just said, "I'm sorry" and left. She said he looked pretty dejected.
How weird that he would be waiting for her and have a card for me when I have had zero contact with him in ten years. I just did a quick online search and did find a tribute to his brother on youtube, so I guess its true. I'm debating leaving a comment on youtube along the lines of "i'm sorry for your loss", but I'm not sure if I should. I moved away from where I grew up a while ago, partly to get away from some bad memories and my time with this guy is not a time in my life I want to relive.
I have to admit that I am curious what the card said though...
Re: Weirdest contact from an ex boyfriend
I would probably leave a message too b/c i WOULD be so curious.
Weird! I would also be so curious about what was in that envelope, but no, I wouldn't leave a comment.
I also have one of those ex bf's who I hope to never come into contact with again. About a month ago, he found my blog and emailed me asking to take pics of his kid, making no mention of who he was or even hinting that we knew eachother. Acted like a total stranger. I acted like a total stranger back, replying, "sorry, my schedule is full." This is after he requested me on fb a couple times, so I know he knew it was me.
Yeah, my curiosity is eating at me, but I think I'll let it go. He had some stalking tendencies and boundary issues back in the day, so I don't want to encourage any contact with him.
I do feel bad about his brother though. They were pretty close back then.
