NBR: Dog Boarding

Zoe has worn out her welcome at DH's farm and we'll need to board her for our trip in October.  Does anyone have recommendations for good boarding facilites?  She can't be left home alone and just be checked in on and fed so a pet sitter is not an option.

So far I'm looking at Cascade kennels in Woodinville and DeLanda Dog Inn in Bothell.  There;s a good facility near my house, but they do open play during the day and that would freak Zoe out.

I'm in the Kenmore/Brier/LFP area and am open to suggestions up to Everett and south to the airport.

Re: NBR: Dog Boarding

  • We LOVE  Cascade Kennels and have had great experiences there.  They are super nice when I would call every day to check on our dog the first time we left him and the dog loves going there and would trot off without a look back at me - which breaks my heart but I like that he's happy.  (oh and our dog is not friendly with people or other dogs and they still deal with him perfectly).

  • There's also Paradise Pet Lodge in Woodinville. My parents love boarding their dogs there (they have 3 collies). They have options for play, food, and grooming too!

    This is good to know.

Zoe loves people but would rather leave other dogs alone.  Sadly, they don;t always want to leave her alone and she's not the most polite when it comes to saying back off.

    Do you know their rates?

  • It's farther north then you asked for, but our vet recommends (and so do we!) Canine Country Club and Cattery in Arlington/SmokeyPoint?Lake Goodwin area. Outdoor playtime, walks, and on site grooming. Heated Kennels. They are about $20 a day if I remember correctly. They have a discount coupon at their website.

  • My Berner-in-law always goes to Paradise Pet Lodge as well.  My MIL is super crazy about her dog and wouldn't let him just go anywhere, so her seal of approval is good enough for me.  We're looking into boarding our own little guys at Dog Works Ranch in Monroe- I met the owner a few months ago and was really impressed with her, though I admit we haven't been out to check on the place in person yet.  I know she networks at local pet supplies stores and leaves coupons (for I think 10% off stays) so you might want to stop by an All The Best, Next to Nature, Mud Bay etc. and see if they have any of those if you're interested.  Good luck! Smile

  • We use Paradise Pet lodge...
  • We've used Bone-a-Fide Dog Ranch over the years and have been very happy with them.  They are in Clearview and I think they expanded to a second location in Lake Stevens.  The owners are fantastic!
