Bedding/registry WWYD?

We're doing the Sumersault Moo Cow  border, valances and rug. I didn't register for the bedding set b/c I figured I couldn't use the quilt and it's kind of expensive for a 4 piece set.

Come to find out, the people I work for really want to buy my bedding (told my sister tonight. We all work together) if that's what I want.

I was just going to be more practical and get plain bedding. Now I can't decide what to do. Would you go ahead and register for the bedding set or not?

  • If they want to buy it and you like it, then let them. You can always get the plain sheets for extras.

  • Well I kind of think it's a waste of money, but we did put the quilt on the back of our glider.  It pulls the room together.

The bumper is in a space bag in the basement though.

This is why I'm having such a hard time deciding. I don't think we'll use the bumpers either. And crib sheets need to be changed a lot. So it's like they'll be paying $189 for a crib skirt. Aah, I don't think I'm going to add it. If they're honestly going to spend that much money I guess I'd rather it be on something practical.

  • FOUR pieces for almost $200?! I would be more practical and ask for things I need. You can buy the valance separate and register for separates (crib skirt, crib sheets).

See? Great minds think alike! And I like it when I find other frugal mommas. ;-)

  • Yes! It is super cute. I've known parents to put the quilt on the wall behind the crib or use it for tummy time later on.

  • I bought my own bedding set and accessories... yeah, it was a huge splurge, but I wanted it and it made me happy so whatever.

The quilt is hanging on the wall and I really like how it looks. I sold the bumper on eBay since we are using a breathable bumper instead. I love the sheets and crib skirt and valances, and the little night light. My set also came with a stroller blanket, mobile, matching quilt clips to hang the quilt, and pillow sham. He can't use the sham yet but he will eventually. We also got matching foam stars in the set to put on the walls. PIB.

I'm a little embarrassed at how much I spent on it, but I really did get a lot of stuff for my money and I love how it makes my nursery look.
