HELP! Baby hurt his soft spot

Help, i was giving my baby a bath and there is this stupid sprayer thing that attaches to the tub.  Well, stupid me attached it near his head.  He kicked off the other end of the tub with his feet and pushed his head right into it.  He cried and as soon as I figured out what was going on and moved him, he stopped.  But it was right on the back of the soft spot on the front of the head and was a little red.  I'm so afraid!  He seemed fine right after but I'm still freaked out.  Can anyone help?!

I'm sorry that happened, I would also be freaked.  I personally would call my pediatrician, I'm sure he's fine, but I would need the reassurance.

He's probably fine, but it's worth a call to his doctor's office. They can tell you what to look for if there's something wrong.

The soft spot isn't as fragile as you might think. It's covered with a thick membrane -- it's not like his brain is just right on the other side of the skin. Just keep an eye on it -- make sure there's no swelling, etc. And call your ped if it would give you peace of mind.

tritto.  If the soft spot were as fragile as it seems, we wouldn't have lasted very long as a species.  So try not to worry too much (although I would totally be freaking, too).
