Best Method for Ordering Large Amounts of Pizza ??

We're doing pizza for DD's 1st Bday party.

Restaurant choices are Pizza Hut, Donatos, LaRosa's.

Do you think we'd be better off using their catering services, or ordering like Joe Schmoe customer & just ordering a lot of pizzas?

According to the LaRosa's website, it doesn't look like they give any deals for catering, but I can't find the info on Pizza Hut or Donatos (Donatos Catering Tool is not working).

WDYT? Pricewise, for delivery?

  • One thing I do know from ordering food for meetings at work- make sure you call a day or 2 in advance to schedule the order so that they know a big order is coming so your food gets to you when you want it.

  • I'd call a few hours ahead of time, or better yet whenever they open, and just tell them "I need 10 pizzas at 3:00" or whatever.  We've used LaRosa's for a crowd before and this is how we did it and it was fine.  Also if you're willing to pick them up, you can use a Buddy Card and that will save you some money.

  • I worked at Donato's for about 4 years back in high school and college....definitely call a day or so beforehand so that they can make sure they have enough dough prepared for you.  You can tell them that you want to order "x" amount of pizza's and even tell them what time you'd like to pick them up/have them delivered.  If you ask, they may give you some type of discount, depending on how many you order.

  • I used to order a lot of pizzas for a group in college.  This was several years ago in Indiana, but the best deal was at Papa John's.  It was only $5 a pizza if you ordered at least five.  I found that if I called more than a couple days in advance, the order usually got lost.  Calling one or two days in advance worked well, but I still called the day of to make sure they still had my order.
  • I'd call around and see what the best deal is you can get.  Definitely call a day or two ahead of time when you order.

We've ordered pizzas for the kiddos at school, and we always call 2-3 days ahead of time to place our order.  We also check to make sure we got the best price.  If you keep it simple (pepperoni/cheese/etc...), you should be able to get some better prices.  I think at Papa John's we pay $6/pizza for our large orders.

  • You might want to check out Deweys!  Their pizzas seem more expensive than others, but they are much bigger.  They have 12 big slices in a large, so they can feed up to 6 people per pizza.  I use them a lot for work.  I can feed 25 people for about $125 including their party house salad (which is amazing).  Plus, if you spend $125 there they either give you a $15 gift card to use in the future or 10% off your order!  I always order the basic pizzas (pepp, cheese with red sauce, cheese with white sauce, caprice).  The downside - you'd have to pick it up, but it's well worth it!
  • I work for LaRosa's so if you have any questions or need help let me know. If ordering LaRosa's the best bet would be to pick up the order using a buddy card/peeler. ?If you want to do delivery we have a deal buy your first pizza regular price second pizza is discounted but if you order 5 large you get them for $10.99 (1 items that is, anything else is still discounted). ?I hope that wasn't too confusing. ?Again if you chose LaRosa's and have any questions you can either page me or email me ?mhageman@larosas.com

  • Thanks for all the advice!

The reason it's Pizza Hut, Donatos, or LaRosa's is because those are the three that will deliver to the park where we're having DD's party. And we really want to have them delivered, so no one has to leave the festivities to go get them.

    Thanks again!
