I agree.  I use this website to plan out my meals and create a shopping list so I only shop for items I need to make recipes.  This avoids one-off stops to the grocery store various times during the week to pick up stufff.  Then I can just add the staples I need like milk, cereal, etc.  I have saved a lot of money doing this.

  • I use allrecipes too!!!  They are the best.  Plus you can list it by ratings and chose the highest rated recipes.  Almost everything I have made off of there has been so good.

  • Awesome! I am in need for doing my own good cooking, im over the same things all the time! My inlaws are using a chief with all organic foods, they started last night, so im getting my ideas from him but doing the work myself!

They had a breakfast Frittata today, IT WAS SOOOOO GOOD.......

So i looked it up, it looks like you can make it for the whole week and have it ready to go.

This is what he is doing for them, everything is ready to just be re-heated. Its really good, but CRAZY $$$$$$...........................

Here is the Recipes I found that matched what they has this morning.........

    What You Need:

    • A non-stick oven-proof skillet, preferably 12"
    • Eggs (12 for a thick frittata) and other ingredients (any meats veggies)
    • Heat resistant spatula, such as silicon
    • Broiler (if no broiler, you can just put it in the oven to cook)

    1. Adjust top oven rack - with a skillet (ovenproof!) on it, you want the top of the skillet to be 4-6 inches from the broiler. Turn on broiler.
    2. Put skillet (preferably 12" nonstick) on stove and add about a tablespoon of oil. Add any raw vegetables or meat you want in your frittata and saute them until done, adding any herbs, spices, and salt you desire.
    3. Add any cooked ingredients and heat them through.
    4. Whisk eggs (12 eggs for a thick frittata in a 12" skillet, fewer eggs for a thinner frittata or in a smaller skillet) with salt, pepper, and 3 Tablespoons of water, milk, half and half, or cream. (Half and half is said to produce the best results.) If using cheese, add about half to the eggs (or you can save all of it for the top). Add egg mixture to skillet.
    5. On medium heat, cook eggs for about 2 minutes, scraping the sides and bottom with heat-resistant spatula. When eggs are mostly cooked but still very wet, stop stirring. You want to see cooked egg scattered throughout, but loose egg in between.
    6. Continue cooking on stove for another minute so underside sets.
    7. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top. Put skillet under broiler. Watch carefully while top browns. This will take 2-4 minutes
    8. Remove skillet from oven and let sit for about 5 minutes to finish cooking in center.
    9. Cut in wedges and serve.

    Tips:

Typical ingredients to go in frittatas are smoked meats such as ham and bacon, and vegetables such as spinach, mushrooms, peppers, and asparagus.
    1. Be sure to use an oven mitt or potholder when removing skillet from oven. Just because it is cool when using on the stove doesn't mean it will stay cool in the oven. For safety, leave the mitt or a dishcloth in place on the handle to remind you not to grab it with a bare hand.
    2. Frittata wedges freeze well. Cool completely before wrapping and freezing.

  • 2 sites I use most: Gina's WW Recipes & Simplify Supper

The first is good for the lower-calorie meals you want to make, and the 2nd is good for if you're not feeling creative and/or don't want to look around too much for meal ideas. So far, all the recipes I've cooked from the WW Recipes site have been spectacular, btw.

    HTH!

  • I think the girls over on the What's Cooking board are really good!  I love going through their blogs and finding ideas for dinner but if I know what I want to make I just use allrecipes.com
