I WANT to be excited about our name choice but....

DH and I have discussed a million names but we can't agree on any other one than Presley Kathryn.  We both like it but neither of us are jumping up and down about it.  I think we would both be open to something else but neither can come up with a suggestion we both like more.  We picked DS name right away and were 100% about it from day 1.  I WANT to be excited about DD's name and LOVE it but I am just not sure why I am so hesitant....commitment issues or what?  I don't want the decision of her name to be HO-HUM...I want DH and I to really LOVE it.

I really wanted to name her ________ (w/ MN Preston) because it's a very sentimental family name.  I liked Emery Preston but DH didn't go for Emery. 

I am just confused and wondering if we should go with the name that keeps coming to the top or should I start looking again.

Any suggestions?

The only Emery's I've ever known are boys but it could go both ways maybe. Preston is more boyish too. I LOVE the name you picked: Presley Katherine! It's beautiful! I'm sorry you don't LOVE it. I know someone that has two girls named Presley (can't remember mn) and Quincey Campbell (insert last name).

With dd, we picked a name but as it got closer we both kept asking each other, are you sure??  So we started throwing names around again and then picked Samantha about two months before she was born

 

I think Presley is super cute.  

What other names had you talked about in addition to Emery?

Annie and Lane (or Layne)...neither were favorites.

Presley is adorable.

Try Nymbler, some of the names are off the wall, and you two can both sit down and go over it together. Just marking off names that you both don't love. It's fun.

I think it's cute but if you don't like it, then don't settle. Dh & I argued back & forth over dozens of names for the past 6 weeks & I didn't think we'd ever agree on one. But we have & we both really like it.

I have a friend named Preslie (an adult) and I think her name is cute, it fits her. Maybe get a general list of names you like and decide after she is born. You will feel differently at that time.

I think Emery and Preston are too masculine together, but maybe you could choose one and pair with a feminine name.

just keep thinking of names and make sure you don't name your child something you will regret. you should love it.

Keep looking. Presley is not a very pretty name anyway. What about Emily or Emerson? Emerson goes well with your DD's name, actually. Or Avery?

What about Patience?  Or Avery?  Or Perry?  The woman who plays Ari Gold's wife on Entourage is named Perry. I think it's pretty.  Or Parker.  Parker is nice.

Presley is more boyish IMO and totally NMS. I like the suggestion of Avery though.
