My kids do not have a fever, just clear runny noses and Miles has a cough. mild cough. Emilia was just tired and a runny nose. They were like this Saturday.
I send DD with a clear runny nose and a mild cough (especially if she's had the cough for a few days. . . coughs seem to last forever for her). If her energy is terribly low, I'll keep her home, though.
If I kept L home every time he had a runny nose or cough, he would never go to school. As long as the fluid is clear I would say it is okay. I send DS to school with a cough if its from drainage from his allergies. If he has a deep, croupy cough, then I don't.

Kids have runny noses and coughs all the time. I'd follow their guidelines, and of course your personal judgment, but you may never send them this winter if you keep them home for runny noses!
I'd send 'em. It sounds like seasonal allergy/weather changing type stuff, not contagious/fever/flu stuff. Give the teacher a heads-up and ask her to call if you if it gets any worse throughout the day.
this is exactly what is going around J's dayhome. Our lady just said to send the kids, as long as they are fever free, no productive cough, clear sinuses.
Technically you could send them since they're fever free. However, I never do when mine are "sick" because I realize that not all communicable diseases are accompanied by fever. For instance, my whole household was sick as dogs for a solid week last week.....but no fever. We obviously had a viral cold process so I kept the kids home so as not to share the love with the other kids/teachers.
Re: sick and daycare, mdo or whatever.....question.
I have sent Maddie like that since last Wednesday. She has no fever at all, just a runny nose.
