If you use/used a crib tent, a few ??'s

Did you think it was worth it?  Is it a decent (thick) enough netting that you didn't worry if DC was trying to climb it?  (Like is it similar to the sides of a pack n play or thinner?)

Any brands/specific ones you recommend?   We just started discussing this but haven't had a chance to look in stores yet.

Thanks for any input!!

  • Ohh---and do you think it would do a good job of keeping DD1 out of DD2's crib?  (She can climb in)

  • We have a crib tent, and it's definitely been worth it. DS tried to climb out his crib nearly a year ago, and I was hoping to just get a few months out of it. He loves his tent (he turned 3 last month), and he's never tried to get out of it -- knock on wood. It's pretty sturdy, and although it can be kind of a pain to change the sheets with it on, I'm so glad we got it.

  • We have the Tots in Mind one. We bought DD's 2 years ago. 3 months after buying it, it tore. Tots in Mind has a website where you can apply for a second one. You have to enter your credit card info, but that is only so they can make sure they get the ruined one back. They don't charge you.

We bought DS's 14 months ago and have had no problems with it. If we do down the road, it's nice to know they will replace it.

The netting is thin, but like I said, if anything happens to the netting or the poles, they replace them for free.

My 3 1/2 year old DD can now unzip DS's but I keep his door shut and put the door handle protector on his door so she can't go in whenever she wants.

  • I had the one from one step ahead for DS.  Our cat was getting in his crib and the tent solved that problem.  He had it on his crib for over a year, it was durable.  The only problem I had was he learned how to unzip it, so I tied a wide piece of fabric to the zipper and velcroed the end to the end of his crib.
