I was thinking for my parents for Christmas of getting professional pictures taken of DS and my niece together.  My brother, SIL and niece live 9 hours away and will be in town in a few weeks for vacation.  I have an appointment set while they are here and thought that it would be a nice gift.  Dh thinks its okay, but he's a boy and doesn't get the sentimental value in it. 

So, WDYT?

It sounds like a nice gift.  If your parents are anything like mine, they already have everything they need and its tough finding something they'll actually use.  Since its probably rare to get pics of both their grandchildren together, they'll probably love it and appreciate the effort you put into planning it.

I don't think you could ever go wrong with good pics. Some photogs even put together brag books - that would be fun as well.

That's what we do when we have the opportunity to be together.  We spent Thanksgiving together two years ago and had them done.  We'll be home for Thanksgiving again this year and plan to do it again.  For an added bonus, we took my mom with us to have them done and she was in all her glory herding grandbabies.  It was as much a part of the gift as the gift!
