I have never been, let alone by myself I am so excited!!

It's for an annual Mops convention (Mothers of Preschoolers) there are going to be thousands of us down there, looking forward to it! I am stay at the Opryland hotel! Ive heard some great things about it! I meant to check out a couple books at the library re: sightseeing in Nashville but time slipped away from me and I forgot to. I would love any tips when it comes to hot spots, great restruants/ (bars ) and anything a first timer must go see! Unfortunately I think most of my time will be spent attending seminars and listening to speakers but Im arriving a day early so Im hoping I might be able to sneak a few things in  
Also, if there are any cool spots for a photographer, shoot em my way!!

Is there a good transit system or would I be safest with a cab??
