I like it. Given you're in Atlanta, are you Southern? Are you going to pronounce it Saw-yerr, or are you going to pronounce it Soy-yer? I only like it the first way (which in my opinion is the right way.)

I love the name Sawyer...if our good friends hadn't already used it, we might consider it this time.  Mostly because I am a huge Lost fan!  However, with the mn Braun, it reminds me of the old country band Sawyer Brown (which had some great songs and a pretty good lookin' lead singer, LOL).  Is it a family name or could you go with a different mn?

I like it pronounced Saw-yer not Soy-yer. The 2nd way makes my lips twist in a weird way. My SIL's nephew is Soy-yer and I always pronounce it wrong and get corrected.

I love the name Sawyer! It's on my list for potential boy names, but we still don't know what we are having yet.

Sawyer was my maiden name, so it always strikes me as odd for a first name...but only because of my association with it!

There is a music group called Sawyer Brown, but I don't think your kids are going to know anything about them.  Sawyer is a nice name, but I am a "Lost" fan so I immediately think of Sawyer from that show.

Thanks for the replies. Sorry to those of you who don't like Braun - it's our last name, so we will be using it   I included the last name because I wanted to see how many of you would associate the full name with Sawyer Brown.  I didn't/don't know anything about the group. but my DH does. We pronounce our last name like bron instead of brown, so maybe it's different enough?
