Swelling and tingling hands - normal? solutions?

My hands/fingers have been swelling up a little and getting kind of tight and tingly feeling lately. It happens randomly and for various periods of time. If it was after I had been walking or standing for awhile I would understand, but it seems unrelated to any particular action/event. Does this happen to anyone else? What helps?

  • happens to me when I've been at my computer a lot (I work at the computer all day). Doctor said it was carpal tunnel and to try ice or heat and see if either helped, or if not you can get a wrist brace.

  • This happens to me if I walk a lot especially if it's hot. I find holding my hands above my head and shaking them helps relieve it.

For me it's almost like a whole heap of fluid has drained to my hands and it needs help draining away.
