Is it a good idea to register for onesies since you need so many of them? I know people give you alot of clothes at your shower but some other people I know are saying to register for some. Some meaning how many??? Any did you get all different ones or 2 of each for those who did.
Re: registering for onesies
I'd register for some, just to give people ideas of what you're looking for. And, if I could make a suggestion, based on my own experience with them, register for a brand other than Gerber for white onesies. I got a bunch of them and found the sizing to be really small and they shrunk in the wash. It was a bummer.
I really liked anything by Carters, or even the made by Carters for other stores--like Just One Year for Target and Child of Mine (I think...something like that) for Walmart.
I'd just register for a few 0-3, 3-6 and 6-9 sizes, maybe 2 sets of each. I loved onesies, so I used them often w/ DS. You can never have too many
.
I got SO MANY onesies (we didn't find out the sex beforehand of the boys so we didn't get many other clothes) and I hardly ever used them when they were little bitty. They lived in PJs. So don't register for TOO many, just a few. That's my advice. Or at least don't take them out of the packages yet.
And don't register for Gerber onesies. They suck. They're thin and run v small.

I did. Especially our sports team onesies. No one bought any of it though but we got enough clothes for 4 babies.
No sleepers though. We had to buy a bunch of them.
Our girls lived in sleepers for the first few months and we barely even used the onesies except for when it was really hot. Even now, we use more sleepers than onesies.
We got SO MANY newborn and 3 mos clothes the girls can't even come close to wearing them all. I probably have 20 sets of outfits in 3 months size with tags on them still. I would register for size 6 months and up since people will just buy newborn-3 month even if you don't register for it.
I didn't get any of the ones I registered for but got a ton of other (cuter) ones people bought at my shower and when they were born. We also have more newborn & 0-3 than I know what to do with- since I do a load of laundry every day, I feel like they wear the same 4 outfits each all the time!
My favorites by far (not that you'd register but if you want to buy) are the Gap less than 7 lb onesies. They come in a 3 pack and have a blue set, pink set and a green set. They were great in the beginning when most nb stuff was too big (mine came home both around 5 lbs) and they still fit them at 8&9 lbs actually although DS is now a little too long for them. The thing I love is that the necks are very stretchy to go over their heads easily. DS would still fit in some of his other smaller stuff except that his head wont fit through...
