Anyone have any experience with this?
I got tested for a YI and it came back negative but my dr says the levels of bv are a little high, but not high enough to treat me unless it becomes a nuisance for me. So I have a few Qs
What is the traetment and can it harm the baby?
What symptoms should i be looking out for?
Is there anyting i should be avoiding?

Re: Bacterial Vaginosis
I had it in the 2nd tri... doc put me on antibiotics, but then I got a YI from them and had to use monistat... what a pain! BV doesn't really have any symptoms, except maybe heightened vag smell...
BV can be very serious due to it possibly causing preterm labor. You need to keep an eye on it if you can.
Watch for increased fishy smelling discharge this is a sign you have it. You also may get abdominal pain, which you should report to your doctor. You may need to be put on antibiotics to treat it.
You may want to try to get some probiotics to help things downstairs. Your doctor is right that some women have BV and it doesn't affect them, but for some it becomes very serious. Most definitely keep an eye on yourself.
I've had this so many times.
Treatment: A mild dose of antibiotics. No, these won't hurt the baby. I actually took too many of my antibiotics one day and freaked. I called the pharmacist and my doctor who assured me that the most it would do is give me a tummy ache. And it did.
Symptoms: More dishcarge than normal, and a weird color (greenish yellow). That's what tipped me off.
Avoiding: Not that I know of.
