I am thinking of doing the same and asked the question on the Eco-Friendly Family board yesterday morning-ish. I am not sure how to include the link but I bet you could find it!
They are AWESOME and really empowering. I have two classes left, and feel really confident about my abilities to do this med-free. Hands down the best money we've spent this pregnancy.
I've had a few friends take them and got rave reviews. Classes here are $350 but spread out over the number of classes, it's not that expensive per class. The classes at the hospital are almost as expensive and don't cover nearly as much. My classes start mid-October and I'm very excited.
I am currently participating in it and love it. It does cost $295 in my area, but it is well worth it. You will get a lot more out of it than most other birthing classes. This includes pre and post natal nutrition, relaxation techniques and exercises that will help during labor, breast feeding information, caring for your newborn and more.
Since you are hoping for a natural birth as well, it is especially good since 86% of couples that participate go on to labor without any medical interventions. From what I have read about other classes, they primarily focus on breathing and the standard hospital experience (teaching about the benefits of pitocin and epiderals).
I have heard that if you have a medical reimbursement program at work that you are participating in, it will cover the costs of the class.
Re: Bradley Birthing Classes
Both of my SILs did Bradley classes and RAVED about them. They were both able to have natural, med-free births (2 kids each).
I'm planning on taking it too.
