Baby carriers?

Can someone recommend a good and stylish baby carrier that feels secure and is not so hard on the back? Thanks!

Re: Baby carriers?

  • good and not hard on the back- Ergo.  Love it.  Not so much on the stylish.

A mei tai carrier would be the supercute equivalent of an Ergo, though I've never worn one so don't know about the back.  It's adjustable b/c you tie it on, so I'd think you'd be able to fiddle with it some & it'd be ok.

  • Ergo.  I have about 10 of them and that is my favorite.  I love a simple pocket sling too, since I use it as a blanket, diaper changer, and also to carry DS, and it folds up small so I can always have it with me.  It is better than the ergo for the tiny infant stage too, but from about 4 months to 4 years, Ergo.

I still carry DS around in it and he is almost 2, we have been using it since he was 3 months old. It is super comfy and you can have one custom made-they are super cute.?

  • I have a Beco Butterfly and how that DD is almost 20 lbs I love it.  It did have some learning curve for me to figure out how to get DD comfy in it but I love it now.  I know many love the Ergo but I personally did not find it as comfortable.  I have an Eden Mei Tei and it is great but I just do not use it much and if you are not comfortable with using one then you might not find a Mei Tei to feel safe...they are but if you are not used to it.

  • I love the Ergo. It isn't the most stylish, but it recently came out with some neat fabrics, so it isn't quite as utilitarian as it used to be.  The Beco, which is very similar in function, is much more stylish, but I personally found the Ergo to be more comfortable.  I also like that it has a built in pocket, which the Beco doesn't.  With the back carry position I was able to use the Ergo until my dd was 2 years old and about 30 lbs.
