The two times I took gonal f, it looked like opk wasn't picking up any lh surge, even when I thought I was very close. First time was with cancelled IUI a few months ago.
Yesterday morning they said I had two mature or almost mature follicles on both sides and told me to take opk and if it's negative, to trigger with ovidrel and come in on Friday morning, but if it's positive, come in the next morning (this morning). Opk was negative so I triggered. My problem though is that I was really feeling full ovaries yesterday and I felt like my lines should at least be getting darkers, but there was nothing there. Usually, I get gradually darkening lines and then a very strong couple of days at ovulation. But this was nothing, there was almost no second line at all. It seemed weird to me. I even got a digital one and it was also negative.
I'm really afraid of missing the ovulation, of ovulating on my own but not knowing it because the opk didn't work. IUI is scheduled for tomorrow morning.
Anyone have problems like that? Would gonal f mess with opk?

After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Actually, on my non-medicated regular cycles I do have lines darkening for a couple of days prior to the lh surge and then really dark lines for a couple of days. I've been doing that for the last couple of years and it's always the same. Maybe it's different for different people. But I never go from no line at all to a completely dark line from one day to the next.
What I meant to say, is although it does happen, it means nothing. You can have a LH surge without progressively darkening lines.
