does anyone know the difference between dr. browns wide neck and regular bottles? i have avent bottles that are leaking so thinking of switching to dr. browns
We just swtiched to Dr. Brown's and love them. We were using the VentAire wide bottles & I'd hoped to find the same in Dr. B, but all Target had was the standard size & DD did just fine with transitioning from wide to narrow. They're a bit more work to clean, but have made a huge difference in her gas/fussiness, so it's worth it. Good luck!
We have Avent bottles also & they use to leak. I found a blog that told me how to correctly put the nipples in the rings & now they never leak, you may want to try that. I can't find the blog site right now so hopefully I explain this okay. The nipple has I believe 4 air flow holes, at least 3 of these air flow holes need to align with the notches in the ring. Once you align them it will not leak anymore. If you have any questions just page me & I will try to help you more!
I switched from the Playtex Vent Aire bottles to Dr. Brown's wide neck bottles recently, and have seen a HUGE difference in my LO's fussiness and spitting up after eating! Dr. Brown's get rave reviews from everyone who uses them, so I figured, it couldn't hurt to try them. It takes about a minute more than usual to clean the extra parts, not a big deal. I use the wide neck and level two wide nipples simply because that is DS's preference. He doesn't seem to like standard nipples.

The wide neck ones have a wider neck and therefore a different nipple.
