That "feels" like my baby, if that makes any sense. It's the first one I feel kind of attached to. I'm so excited. I e-mailed DH (who is deployed) and I hope he loves it as much as I do. It's entirely possible that he'll hate the name because it's somewhat unusual (it's way down low on the SSA list, which is actually a big plus to me). I didn't make up the name though--not my style!
Oh, I'm so excited and kinda lonely and wanted to share! Please send me DH-liking-the-name vibes!! Whatever we decide on, we're keeping it a secret until the birth..... so it's probably good that we're so late naming the little guy because I'm terrible at keeping my own secrets.
I am thankful every day for my miracle after infertility.
And thrilled to be pregnant again after FET!
Re: Almost 31 weeks and I finally came up with a name
I'm sure it is a great feeling to finally have a name. Congrats! I hope your dh loves it just as much.
Dh and I are struggling with name choices, as well. I, too, want something a little less common and nothing so far has felt "right". It is good to know that others have struggled with the same thing.
Well ... he hates it. Here we go again.
Good luck to you, too!

Davez --- it was ROY.
Is it weird? I loved it because I like semi-unusual names that are still not made up, it has a bit of family history, and seemed like it would be totally cute for a boy and cool for a man. DH thinks it sounds like a douchey name (to use an un-PC term)!! Is he right?? (I sort of see his point but I was blinded by my love ....)
Actually if you all think it's weird maybe it will ease my broken heart a little!

I don't think it is weird. I sort of like it, but I know someone IRL with that name (in my office) and it has more of a negative connotation.
I'm sorry your DH didn't like it. Last night we were talking through names and it was funny how all the names I liked, he could come up with a way that the name could be used to be made fun of (on the playground). He came up with things that I would have never thought of.
Good luck!! I hope you find the right name soon!
I'm not sure if I'm supposed to love it or hate it... lol....
Roy, to me, says "good ol' honest farmer. With good crops, and a wife that makes nice bread. " But maybe that's b/c Davez is from a farm, and I'm sure at some point he's told me about a neighbor named Roy or something.
Names are hard. We went back and forth until we were heading out the DOOR with Ava. They MADE us name her or said we'd have a bunch of BS to deal with, paperwork wise. I loved her name, but didn't like it b/c it was so popular. I too, wanted something different, but not weird.
Now, having gotten to know her, she fits her name. She's an Ava.
I say have a few names you like, and just wait to meet the little one.
You'll know it when you meet him. Trust me. ;-)
