question about freezing dinners..

What kind of containers are the best to prevent freezer burn, and is there a special process other than preparing the meal as usual, freezing, and labeling....? Any help is apprciated.

Re: question about freezing dinners..

  • Ha wow I think I must just not be that picky.  I use gladware or whatever I have in the cabinet...make the dinner as normal, slap it in there and toss it in the freezer.  I try to eat it within about 6 weeks....but that's about it.  I have found some things freeze better than others -- personal faves are spaghetti sauce and meatballs and meatloaf (Dh favorite...and I think it's gross...I whip one of those out of the freezer and he thinks I'm a goddess)

  • Ditto PP, I use gladware for the most part.
  • I just use regular tupperware for most things.  Things like spaghetti and other soft "one pot meals" typically go into freezer bags and I lay them as flat as possible in the freezer to save room.
  • thank you ladies, always helpful!
