What do you do to help your LO learn how to sit on their own?

I put him in the tripod position and he balances for a few seconds, I lay him on his back and slowly raise him up by his fingers, I hold him by his hands while he sits, and I also use the Bumbo from time to time.

Any other exercises we could do?

you're doing all the right things.  Tummy time is awesome because it works the trunk extensors which kids also need to sit.  With that said, babies don't usually sit on their own till 5-6 months.  At that time it is not indefinately without falling over, and is usually with them supporting themselves by their hands.  After that they slowly gain independence and balance with sitting until they are walking (it takes awhile...)

Sounds like you're doing the right things. I didn't even try putting DS in the tripod position until a few weeks ago. He learned quickly and was tripoding just before 5 months
