Ha ha you'd get along great with my neighbor/friend who is all about Christmas and buys all new ornaments every year and does a different theme. Too funny. We just put up the same ole' lights and ornaments we have. Our big thing is planning our annual Christmas party. We had planned to not have it this year since I was supposed to be 8 months PG then, but now ... ehhh I'm not sure we'll do it.
I start thinking about my christmas decorations in like April! Everyone in my family always complains when the christmas decorations go out in august and september in department stores, but I personally love it.
I definitely want to do something different this year. Last year I went with an all natural theme with homemade ornaments made out of dough and I strung cranberries and popcorn. I didn't really like it as much as I thought I would. This year my tree is going to be cool...I just don't what I'm going to do yet.
I always do a traditional tree with white lights and glass bulbs in our living room. Our tree is pre-strung with colored lights & DH likes the fun ornaments so I think I might do more of that this year and put the tree in our office/den, since that's where we spend most of our evenings the last long while.
In memory of precious Julia, sweet baby James, and now Timmy who fought so hard.

I start planning in July. I'm already half way done my shopping. My trees are the same every year (I have 3 of them) The big one is more formal and my tree that I decorate my way. DD has her own tree in the family room that we put all the ornaments she's made and collected over the years. And then the third tree is just a modge podge of ornaments I don't want on the formal tree.
Christmas is my favorite time of the year because it's a party the whole month!

Tree #1 will be a white tree with light blue and silver ornaments. It is the "first snowfall" theme
Tree #2 Copper, rust and gold theme
Tree # 3 (3ft) All of DH and my handmade ornaments we made as kids
I have another tree in storage that is an "angel theme"
I want to do a black and silver tree too. I blame my mom, there was a tree in almost every room in our house (range in sizes) with a different color palate.
But Halloween is my fave holiday.

LOVE Christmas!! I haven't started thinking about it yet though. I do the same thing pretty much on my Christmas tree every year. I add more and more to my outside decorations though. Now, I'm excited!!! This is my favorite time of year: Football, Halloween, more football, Thanksgiving, football again, and CHRISTMAS!! (then bowl games).

We really have two sets of ornaments (a glass set and a plastic and cloth set). We will have to stick with the non glass as with a 2.5 YO, dog, and 3 cats, the glass would probably not last long. LOL AND I started Christmas shopping in August! HE HE Can you tell I love xmas?
Dh and I have do have an ornament tradition. From the year we got engaged (2004) to current we have bought a Christmas ornament each year that represents were we are with life. For example we have a very expensive glass "I love you" heart for 2004 (engagement), a hand painted 1st Christmas together ornament in 2005 (wedding), etc. They aren't all expensive, but they are all very important to us. We go down to The Christmas Place in Pigeon Forge each year to pick out a special one for that year. We will either go down for a few days at our anniversary or a few days before xmas (I really want to go before xmas so we can go to a show).

I'm excited this year! It will be our first holiday season in our house, so I feel like I can actually go all out with decorating. Somehow decorating small apartments was never that exciting.
Our tree will likely remain the same as it's always been, but we do tend to pick up a couple new ornaments every year. I'm mostly excited about a centerpiece for the dining room table. I want to fill tall glass hurricanes with black, silver, and white glass ornaments. That's all I know for certain right now; I'll have to figure out what else to do.
:::pouts::: Thanksgiving is my fav and it's always overshadowed by Christmas.
Our house is barely 1000 sq ft and since we've lived here we get a tiny real tree and put it on a table DH made. We go to a place in town that donates a % of the cost to the troops.
I decorate our tree with red and silver ornaments with white lights. There are also bells, our 1st Christmas ornament, snowflakes, icicles, and some new stuff I got last year (can't remember - I guess it will be a suprise!). Oh, and I have a fake cranberry garland.

It's our first Christmas in our own home, and I can't wait to decorate! The last two years were pathetic, because a tree didn't fit in our Brooklyn apartment. (It's amazing to me that we have a three bedroom home, with a finished basement, for less than we were paying for a one bedroom in the borough.)
I think I'm going Christmas Overboard this year; it's going to be fun!

Holy crap! You do 3 trees? It is hard enough to just get one done!
I don't do Christmas with a face-so no reindeer, santa, or snowmen. I like the play of regal colors, not red and green.
LOL - "Christmas with a face" sounds funny, but that's what I do too. I've just never phrased it like that. I like it.
We did a very simple tree last year, just multi-colored lights and some tiny mirror balls. It was our first tree together, so we had an awesome time with it .
These are the ornaments we used, the finished product, and Corn with his first Christmas tree.

I'm a Christmas nut and have toyed with the idea of putting the tree up, but DH said absolutely not. We don't really do a theme....just all of the ornaments we have collected over the years.
