B just participates in a dance thingy that comes to her daycare. I was going to sign her up for outide dance school but she preferred to do that with her friends.
We tried gymnastics at your son's age and it was a disaster. She goes to ballet now and loves it. We will probably add or substitute soccer in the spring.
We did music classes from 6 to 18 mos and a parent/tot swimming class here and there. DS started taking skating lessons at 3.5 and soccer at 4. I'm fighting the urge to get DD into things. She's only 2 and already has plenty of socialization. But, she wants to do everything her brother does. At the same time, I think it would be a total waste of $$ to start her in any sports or dance right now.
Ok whew! I thought I was the only one that didn't have my kid in some activity right now. He's done gymnastics (came to his old school) and he loved that. I've thought about putting him in swim lessons this winter, but with us working FT its so hard to have time to fit it in. My boss would never go for letting me leave early.
So far, P's only participated in Little Gym classes (gymnastics and dance). She's been going there for about two years now. We'd like to sign her up for something different (soccer, karate, swim, etc), but unfortunately, most of the activities like that in our area require you to be 5, in order to participate. LAME.
DS has been in classes since he was 6 weeks old (of course, at that age it was really for me). We did mom/baby developmental classes from 6 weeks to about 16 months, we did mom/baby yoga at 6 months or so, Kindermusik or Music Together from 6 months until 15 months or so,and My Gym all last winter. For the summer and fall we don't do anything since it is so nice out and we just live at the playground.
This winter he is doing swim lessons and My Gym. We may do a music class if we have time. He also goes to daycare 2 days a week. Next fall when he is 3.5 he will start T-Ball with our local league and I want him to do karate or some type of martial arts.

Re: organized activities
At your DS's age, nothing.
As my post below states, this year we are doing soccer. I also want to do t-ball next summer.
DS - December 2006
DD - December 2008
gymnastics, dance and swim
I did have Halee signed up fo soccer but there wasn't enough people joined up so they canceled it
We will start Miles this year in Karate and Soccer.
We have only ever done swim lessons.

DD did mommy and me swimming prior to and around age 2 (indoor heated pool). I tried to get her and DS in swimming this summer but I was too late.
DD takes dance and a tumbling at age 4. It's 1.5 hrs one night a week.
DS will be 2 in 6 days and takes a tumbling class. It's 30 mins a week.
