Fall soccer question

I know everyone is posting about soccer today, but I have a question.  Does it seem normal that the only outdoor soccer times offered this fall occur on a weekday in the middle of the day?  My options were either Tuesday or Friday from 10AM - 10:45AM or Wednesday or Thursday from 1PM to 1:45PM, or do indoor soccer in November that had evening and weekend options?

I chose the indoor soccer because with me working FT and DH in school FT, there was no way for us to do the outdoor program.  Maybe it's just because it's fall, and in the spring there will be more options.  I was disappointed that we couldn't do outdoor soccer this fall, but I guess indoor is better than nothing.

Re: Fall soccer question

  • I'm in MI and we just started soccer outside on Monday nights in Wixom.  It was a little harder to find a weeknight through the community programs vs. indoor private programs, especially for ages 3-4.  Honestly, it's not the best time for him.  By 6:30 he was exhausted and was ready to leave w/15 mins to go.

Well that stinks.   I hope DS doesn't feel the same way.  It's being offered through our town's recreation and education program.  I guess we will just see what happens.

  • Did you check out your local AYSO soccer?
  • I run a rec. department.  We do most of our three and four year old programs during the day and on the weekend.  For instance, we have soccer on saturday mornings.  Our weekday stuff is few and far between, but we do some for those parents who are home with the kids and those kids who only go to school two or three times a week.  We also offer some afternoon classes starting at 3.  We have no success with night programs for little guys.  The kids are always to tired.

Do they offer it on a Sat?  We tried indoor soccer on a Sat last year but DS wasn't ready yet.  Our Saturdays are so packed right now, I was hesitant to sign him up.  But, he probably would be more rested.

    Saturday is full.
