Decongestants when nursing?

Ugh :(  So DS1 and DS2 both have a cold and now apparently I'm getting it too.  I feel like I remember that Sudafed wasn't good when nursing b/c it can decrease your supply.  Is there anything that IS ok to take (and will work)?  I already can't breathe and this is just starting :(

    I think benadryl miiiiight be ok....anything that dries your sinuses will dry your other ducts and membranes, in addition.

    humidifier and some mentholatum?

    I used the saline nasal drops, but if memory is correct, it didn't work very well. I did use sudafed later and didn't have supply issues. I also slathered myself in Vicks Vaporub.

    Pretty much every med ruined my supply.  Hot tea with honey, spicy food, and steamy showers helped.  Feel better soon!

    spicy food is SUCH a good idea!!

    so is a saline spray- I forgot about that!

    I need to pocket these for my next cold! which should be soon since I deserve it.

    I used benadryl while I was preggo & I heard some ladies using the Vicks Vapor tablets in the shower.

    Thanks ladies!  I use those Vapotabs (shower thingys) for DS1- they are amazing! 

    I would LOOOOOOOVE me some spicy food but not sure how that will sit with DS2 since he seems to be pretty sensitive to what I eat.  I've already had to cut dairy and red sauce (which is almost a sin in my household!).  Then again, he's already sick and fussy so maybe it won't be a noticeable difference?  LOL.

    Colds suck :(

    I called my LC yesterday and she went through the entire list and found these as safe:

    Alavert
    Mucinex expectoret extended relief bi-layer tablet
    Sudafed max strength non drowsy nasal decon. 10 mg tablet
